Vice President, Group Credit & Investment Evaluation
(Senior Manager)
Responsibilities
- To oversee all activities within a team and motivate team members to perform tasks efficiently.
- Responsible for deciding how to approach tasks and develop a plan to accomplish them, including distributing information to team members and keeping track of and structuring various tasks, resolving challenges and determining the goals that members will work toward.
- To perform in-depth credit evaluation and approve credit applications in accordance with the credit authority given.
- To review reports prepared by subordinates and to support / supervise their preparation of credit evaluation reports, identify associated risks and make appropriate recommendations for well-informed credit decision making.
- Ensure quality credit assessment and due diligence to ensure compliance with internal policies and guidelines.
- To review, formulate and implement credit application processes, policies & guidelines to enhance efficiency of credit approval and effectiveness of credit risk management.
- Conduct portfolio analysis, provide analytical review and report to effectively identify opportunities and risks.
- Assist in addressing credit-related issues raised by relevant stakeholders.
- To conduct joint customer visitation with Business units and branch visits when necessary.
- To work closely with Business Units and other functional departments to achieve business strategic growth targets and to ensure credit risk management practices are aligned with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
- Review and plan staff development and training needs to develop a high performing and engaged workforce.
- Lead/Partake corporate initiatives/projects to drive process improvement and enhance productivity.
- To participate/assist in special assignments such as due diligence, investment evaluation, and corporate related matters.
Requirements
- Degree in Business Studies, Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent with Chartered Banker (CB)/ Associate Chartered Banker (ACB)/ Professional Credit Certification (PCC)/ Certified Credit Professional (CCP) qualification.
- Preferably possess at least 8-10 years of relevant experience in evaluation of commercial loans and leading a team in the relevant department/division.
- A team player with strong leadership sks, good communication skills with a proactive problem-solving attitude.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, resourceful and attentive to details.
- Possess good command of English with a flair for comprehensive report writing.
- High self-motivation and able to work independently.
- Possess sense of urgency, able to multitask and work under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
